I was born in 1962 in Drachten, the Netherlands.
In the early nineties I studied photography at the Fotovakschool Apeldoorn.
Art has always been a part of my life, although more explicit in recent years. About ten years ago I started experimenting with abstract photography. I quickly understood that art is my personal form of expression which gives me the most fulfillment, and satisfaction. My experience with people and my personal development blend into a form of visual expression; going beyond words into the universal language of colour.
Most of my photographic work is abstract and minimal. Being able to capture a moment in time and to expand it to a different level gives me great joy. I do not seek objects or new topics. They come to me at the right time when I am ready for a new image or series.
I believe that art is an integral part of every being and that art has a life of its own. It is just natural. And naturally colourful.
